Why Learn From Us
Most workshops stop
at the screen. We don't.
Rooted in IAAC Barcelona's design-to-fabrication culture
Our approach is rooted in IAAC Barcelona's design-to-fabrication culture, where parametric design is inseparable from making. You don't just learn tools — you learn how design decisions translate into materials, machines, tolerances, and assembly.
With a small batch of 12, guaranteed machine access, and hands-on mentoring, this workshop is designed to simulate a real fabrication studio environment, not a classroom.

Real Machines
Work directly with CNC routers, laser cutters, and 3D printers — brand-new, in-house, and maintained for safety.
Portfolio-Ready Output
Leave with a physical fabricated prototype, parametric workflows, and professional documentation.
Studio Environment
Small batch of 12 participants ensures meaningful machine access, team-based rotation, and individual attention.
Complete Pipeline
From algorithmic concept to physical prototype — experience the full design-to-fabrication workflow.
Curriculum
What you will learn
Seven modules taking you from algorithmic concept to fabricated prototype — bridging computational thinking with hands-on making.
Algorithmic & Parametric Design Fundamentals
Explore rule-based and data-driven design methods to generate adaptable, fabrication-aware geometries using Rhinoceros and Grasshopper3D.
Parametric Modeling with Rhino & Grasshopper
Develop rule-based and associative design logic to create adaptable models that respond to material constraints and machine limitations.
Fabrication-Ready File Preparation
Convert digital models into fabrication-ready files. Learn machine preparation, tolerances, joinery logic, and CAM preparation.
3D Printing, CNC Routing & Laser Cutting
Gain hands-on experience across all three machines. Understand subtractive vs additive fabrication strategies for each method.
Material Behavior & Machine Constraints
Understand material behavior, tolerances, and machine constraints. Learn machine operation, safety, and workflow planning.
Rapid Prototyping & Iterative Design
Design and fabricate an individual physical prototype through rapid, iterative cycles — from concept to assembly.
Process Documentation for Portfolio
Document your entire design-to-fabrication journey. Learn to present parametric workflows, fabrication logic, and physical outcomes professionally — leaving with portfolio-ready material and a complete understanding of the design-to-fabrication pipeline.
